This role is for the kind of person who can see the forest for the trees from any vantage point, be it from a client meeting or a design file. On any given day, you&#x2019;re able to step up and lead or step back and evaluate how to best support your team. </br></br></br></div><div><strong>Your responsibilities</strong></div><ul>
<li>Reporting to a VP, Design, co-manage a +60-person design team with other Design Directors.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the rest of MetaLab&#x2019;s leadership team to keep company engagement high.</li>
<li>Drive the overall Design team&#x2019;s operations and strategy.</li>
<li>Advocate for the design team internally to make sure they&#x2019;re set up for success.</li>
<li>Articulate constructive feedback and ensure the design team is evaluated and supported on an ongoing basis.</li>
<li>Involved in vetting, hiring, and training new members of the design team.</li>
<li>Mentor our team of Design Leads.</li>
<li>Interact with the design team in-person and online daily, and with clients when needed.</li>
<li>Foster an open, collaborative, and inclusive environment for the design team.</li>
<li>Collaborate with the Client Partnerships team to pitch new engagements to clients.</li>
<li>Assist in scoping out the timeline and requirements of design engagements.</li>
<li>Roll up your sleeves, get in the work, and provide guidance to several project teams simultaneously.</li>

Design Director

<div><strong>Overview</strong></div><div>Principal Designers elevate the quality of our work and, as seasoned craft-focused designers, bring a passion for product design thinking and execution on a variety of project types and product platforms. Principal Designers at MetaLab are consistently relied upon to deliver on more complex tracks of work on their projects, and are often consulted on additional projects to improve the quality of work across the company.<br><br>
</br></br></div><div><strong>Your responsibilities</strong></div><ul>
<li>Design digital product architecture, flows, visual language and systems. Take product ideas from concept to execution and delivery.</li>
<li>Work along research to generate and evaluate design opportunities. Test solutions using storyboards and prototypes.</li>
<li>Solve complex user and business problems using design thinking.</li>
<li>Ensure the quality and consistency of the product and design decisions inside projects.</li>
<li>Work hand-in-hand with engineers to foster innovation and ensure feasibility and fidelity of implementation.</li>
<li>Lead specific phases of projects and manage a host of different engagement and stakeholder types.</li>
<li>Prototype new approaches to the work, respectfully declining the status quo pushing both clients and colleagues outside of their comfort zones.</li>
<li>Ensure the quality and consistency of the product and design decisions throughout the project, with support from Design Leadership.</li>
<li>Help promote an inspiring and inclusive environment for the team.</li>

Principal Designer

<strong>The Role<br/></strong>For this role, we&#x2019;re on the lookout for someone with a vested interest in helping other designers find their own groove. We named it &#x201C;Design Lead&#x201D; for a reason, and we invite you to take that literally. We do product design, so your comprehension of what it takes to get digital products out the door is our first non-negotiable. Beyond that, you&#x2019;ve established yourself as someone people look up to, and you don&#x2019;t take that privilege lightly. You&#x2019;ll still deal in pixels, but you&#x2019;ll also play an integral role in a project&#x2019;s success with clear direction, leadership, guidance, and encouragement.
